Room01

Player would load into a room with a door. Player would press on the screen (common input mechanic for VR) to go through the door to the next room. Each room would be shaded/use different materials and would require the player to press buttons (apart from the start room) to open a view to the exit door to the room. Enabling an exit.

This project was undertaken during the first lockdown. I spent most of the lockdown learning on Pluralsight. This project was designed to test my skills in creating a 3D Virtual Reality game in Unity. As this was my first project I started off with a very simple game.

;
The Game concept:
 - Player would load into a room with a door
 - Player would press on the screen (common input mechanic for VR) to go through the door to the next room
 - Each room would be shaded/use different materials and would require the player to press buttons (apart from the start room) to open a view to the exit door to the room. Enabling an exit.
Looking Back:
The aim of the game is to get to the end of the set of rooms. The game would be short, so that it could be completed in a short time so I could move onto the next VR project I had planned.

Details:
 - Game Design, Material editing/creating, object modelling using Unity game Engine
 - Intractability using C# scripts, with the Unity framework

Project issues:

 - Lighting in some rooms is off

 - Textures/Materials are built off images, these materials don't stretch well over the assets

;
Summary:
Overall, this project was successful. It was deployed on an android phone and is a playable 3d VR game. There are a few minor issues, but this was my first project in VR. I also used the Unity game engine to construct the assets. This was before I discovered Blender.
A ".apk" file for this project (as it was exported to android) is available on request. To request this file please email.
